McCormack set for Leeds exit

Leeds United captain Ross McCormack is set to leave Elland Road this summer following the dismissal of manager Brian McDermott, .

The 27 year old scored twenty-eight goals in forty-six Championship appearances last season, a tally which saw him finish as the division’s top scorer.

McCormack, valued at around £8m by the Yorkshire club, has drawn interest from clubs in the Premier League, La Liga and his native Scotland.

He began his career in Glasgow with Rangers, scoring twice in eleven appearances before moving south of the border to Doncaster Rovers on loan in 2006.

Spells with Motherwell and Cardiff City followed before he completed his switch to Leeds in August 2010 whilst internationally he has two goals in eleven appearances for Scotland.

Bordeaux appoint Gillot as coach

Bordeaux have signed former Sochaux coach Francis Gillot to a two-year contract, the Ligue 1 club announced on Monday.

Gillot took Sochaux to a fifth-place finish and a Europa League berth last season before departing in search of a fresh challenge.

That is exactly what he will be faced with in Bordeaux, who sacked Jean Tigana towards the end of a disappointing 2010/11 campaign that saw the 2008 champions finish seventh on the Ligue 1 table.

A short statement on the club s website confirmed the appointment, saying: Bordeaux is pleased to announce the signing of Francis Gillot.

The former Sochaux coach has committed to two seasons at the club.

The 51-year-old will be joined at Bordeaux by assistants Rene Lobello and Alain Benedet.

Luiz rejected Chelsea offer before PSG switch

Paris Saint-Germain defender David Luiz claims he rejected a new contract at Chelsea to join the Ligue 1 champions.

The Brazil international made the move from Stamford Bridge to the French capital during the close-season, having been with Chelsea since 2011.

Luiz has adapted relatively well to life with PSG, despite Laurent Blanc s men making a stuttering start to their quest for a third consecutive Ligue 1 title.

Having drawn six of their opening nine league fixtures, PSG trail leaders Marseille by seven points, although David Luiz believes he made the right choice in leaving Chelsea.

Chelsea offered me a new contract to stay but it was my choice to come here, he told Globo Esporte.

I was happy with the plan PSG offered to me and I think it wa…

Cordoba have moved swiftly to replace the sacked Albert Ferrer, appointing Miroslav Djukic as their new coach.

Ferrer guided Cordoba to promotion from the second tier last term, but was relieved of his duties on Monday with the club bottom of La Liga.

Djukic, whose last coaching role was a brief and unsuccessful stint in charge of Valencia in 2013, was announced as Ferrer s successor almost immediately.

The Serbian has signed a contract until the end of the season and will begin his new role on Tuesday.

Djukic made more than 400 appearances as a player in Spain during spells with Deportivo, Valencia and Tenerife.

After failing to save Heracles from relegation in 2011, the ex-Yugoslavia international led Real Valladolid to La Liga the following sea…

Fiorentina sign winger Dias from Monaco

Fiorentina have announced the signing of Monaco winger Gil Dias on a two-year loan with an option to buy.

The 20-year-old, who was brought to the French top flight from Braga in 2015, debuted for Monaco from the bench in Sunday s Ligue 1 win over Dijon.

However, Dias has now departed the club, subject to a medical at Fiorentina, having previously enjoyed loan spells with Varzim and Rio Ave.

The second temporary move back to his native Portugal, with Rio Ave, brought six league goals in 34 games last season.

Dias has also been capped by Portugal at youth level.

Bonucci arrival could signal AC Milan formation change

Vincenzo Montella has hinted that AC Milan could follow in the footsteps of Juventus and Chelsea and revert to a three-man defence next season following the arrival of Leonardo Bonucci.

Bonucci made the surprise switch from Serie A champions Juve to the San Siro last week after the two clubs agreed a reported €40million fee for the Italy international.

The 30-year-old is one of 10 new faces at Milan ahead of the 2017-18 campaign as Montella looks to guide the club back into the Champions League for the first time since 2014.

In recent seasons Bonucci has played in a back three with Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Barzagli for Juve and Italy and Montella could be willing to adopt the same tactic.

I am evaluating the players that I have available on a da…
